Richard Harrison

A delivery focused leader, Richard has developed an industry wide reputation as a specialist in new commercial models. He has established several new public service collaboration and delivery models including Public Service Mutuals / Cooperatives, Community Interest Companies, Local Authority Trading Companies and public/private Joint Ventures. He has also been the lead as nominated council shareholder, and managed several contract and commercial management services.

After graduating with an honours degree in Religion, Philosophy, and Ethics; Richard started his career as a Business Analyst working for a large Finance Company in the City back in the early dot.com days. Having spent several years working in digital transformation, he took a career break with his wife and travelled the world for two years working his way overland from Beijing to Australia. This left Richard with a travel bug which he still holds today and a strong belief that diversity, collaboration and creativity are positive forces which can shape society for the better.

On return from his travels, Richard decided to refocus his effort by working in the Public Sector. He returned to the North, finished his MBA and spent the next decade helping organisations to digitise, collaborate and compete. He has held several roles across the public sector including transformation lead for a number of Local Authorities, Director of Commissioning and Director of Commercial Management.

As first among equals, Richard loves working with the C.Co team of independent, creative free thinkers. He encourages creativity, logic, collaboration and a spirit of innovation in everything the team does.

When not a work, Richard lives for his Family; Helen, Tilly and Sonny. Bike rides, sandcastles or sledging are all order of the day, whatever the North West climate allows.
