At the end of last year, the Government published detailed guidance on funding becoming available to help local authorities to deliver on its expectations for paying a fair cost of care and achieving market sustainability.
Designed to ensure local authorities can prepare their markets for reform and move towards paying providers a fair cost of care, as appropriate to local circumstances, the Government expects local authorities to carry out various activities, such as conducting cost of care exercises, to determine the sustainable rate and identify how close they are to it.
This is exactly what we have been doing with numerous local authorities over the last few years, and we have the proven tools, methodologies and expertise to support the process. We are passionate about supporting the sector to ensure market sustainability, and we are able to deliver tried and tested cost of care exercises at a very reasonable cost.
A collaborative approach to fair cost of care exercises
Our approach to carrying out fair cost of care exercises is both collaborative, with commissioners and providers, and evidence- driven, based on provider data, benchmarking and research.
