C.Co were commissioned by Aberdeen Health & Care partnership to support a six month project exploring approaches to community engagement and capacity development that would support its ambition to reduce demand on costly health and care services. The C.Co team worked onsite with senior managers within the trust and partners across community and voluntary organisations to lead visioning, concept development and analysis on how improved use of community assets could facilitate self-care and self-support, make better use of resources and embrace technology.
The team undertook a Theory of Change exercise to articulate key challenges, outcomes and outputs that would deliver the change. Subsequently a series of recommendations were developed along with a suite of practical tools to help the Trust strengthen its communication, engagement and participation mechanisms in order to drive community activity, co-production, ownership and engagement.
Further to this, a detailed mapping activity was conducted to drive future information, advice and guidance activity and community asset mapping.
C.Co’s recommendations provide clear focus for the future direction of the Programme and reinvigorated the Partnership. As always it has been constructive and productive to work with C.Co who provide clear momentum to their work.
