Our approach
Children’s Services is an area of expertise for the C.Co team. Appointed by DfE as Trusted Advisors, C.Co has worked with Children’s Trusts to help identify areas for improvement, with a spotlight on maximising existing resources, ensuring that the right people with the right skills are in the right places at the right time.
Further to this, the Trust was clear on its need to explore how it could make improvements, whilst at the same time delivering efficiencies and a more sustainable business model.
The work undertaken was aligned to assisting the Trust in achieving its ambitions to:
- Reduce costs whilst maintaining and/or improving quality standards
- Become financially independent and sustainable
- Support others on their improvement journey.
The outcome
C.Co collaboratively worked with the Council, the Trust and the DfE to identify a range of opportunities to improve the service, including opportunities around commissioning and affordability; and an approach to guide their transformation journey. We have also recently supported the development of a Children’s Services financial delivery plan.
